Tom Abbott’s second book on NPO governance - The Complementary Model of Board Governance
Each year, across the cities, towns, and smaller communities of North America (and indeed elsewhere worldwide),
millions of individuals regularly volunteer their time for the activities of not-for-profit and charitable
organizations (NPOs). About 46% of the population aged 15 and over volunteer – it is part of our culture.
With so many people engaged as volunteers and a large number of them specifically as volunteer directors,
how can so many of them get it wrong?
Tom's second book, The Complementary Model of Board Governance describes a rational, comprehensive and
successful approach to governing your NPO. It strengthens the Board/CEO partnership and lets the directors again enjoy
their volunteer experience. The book includes many examples and templates of evaluation forms, committee terms
of reference, codes of conduct, and much more. You can read excerpts from the book and reviewers' comments and purchase
a copy of the book by going to tab AMC Shop in the Menu Bar at the top of this page.
The book is now available - order and pay on-line at the AMC Shop.
